An ugly neighbourly spat has emerged from an apartment building after a resident was accused of being an “inconsiderate f***wit”.
In fluro green highlighter, a resident of a Mosman Park complex, southwest of Perth’s CBD, wrote a furious letter for their neighbour before displaying it outside.
They complained the neighbour had been listening to self-help material at high volume “all night”.
“Just a tip. Don’t play your personal growth videos at max volume all night you inconsiderate f***wit,” the message read.
The target of the letter soon responded in black texta on the opposite side of the page, explaining a nasty note was not necessary in getting their point across.
“Sincere apologies if my podcast bothered you. I’ll adjust the volume and placement of the speaker. It was not anywhere near max volume but appreciate the sound must travel and I’m sorry it disturbed you,” they wrote.
“I also have a tip that swearing at your neighbours isn’t very nice or considerate either. Simply bringing an issue to their attention is quite enough. Peace and love.”
The letter was shared to Facebook page The Bell Tower Times where it has received dozens of comments, many from people siding with the personal growth content listener.
“Seems like the old mate neighbour needs to listen to the same personal growth podcast,” one person wrote.
“Sounds like the author could use listening to a few personal growth podcasts,” another said.
Others could help but notice the “scorching passive aggression”.
“I really appreciate the restrained yet rapidly simmering tension as a dynamic,” one wrote.
The absence of friendly neighbourly spirit was what many also found problematic.
“Remember when you would actually speak to your neighbours?” someone said.
“How hard is it just to be polite?” another wrote.
