Qantas’ massive domestic sale on over 700,000 fares

Qantas has just announced it will drop the price on more than 700,000 fares throughout Australia.

The sale kicks off today and will run until Tuesday, May 16 for travel from mid-July to mid-December this year.

If Byron Bay has been on your radar, now would be a good time to book, with flights from Sydney to Ballina starting from $99.

Travellers can also nab a one-way ticket from Melbourne to Sydney from $129, or from Perth at $299.

Meanwhile, if you’re heading from Brisbane to Sydney there are tickets from $139.

The sale comes just in time for Mother’s Day.

“We know people are thinking about connecting with family this weekend,” a Qantas spokesperson told news.com.au.

“Whether you’re looking for a last-minute gift for mum or planning a catch-up later in the year, there’s more than 700,000 great value fares to help get the family back together.”

News.com.au understands Covid credits received during the pandemic can be used when booking the sale fares at qantas.com.

It comes as the airline recently extended the travel expiry date for Covid credits, giving customers an extra 12 months to travel.

To coincide with the sale, Qantas has also launched the latest instalment of its ‘Feels like Home’ campaign – featuring a real-life reunion between an Aussie mum and her overseas-based son after four years apart due to the pandemic.

Timed to coincide with Mother’s Day, the 60-second ad will launch on May 14 across TV, cinema, video and outdoor channels, running until the end of June.

“The heartwarming moment of the mum and son finally getting a hug at her 60th birthday party in country Victoria was filmed in real time, and the reactions are real,” a Qantas statement read.

“The story is told against the musical backdrop of Randy Newman’s Feels Like Home, sung by Australian singer Martha Marlow.”

Qantas’ Feels Like Home campaign, which first launched in 2014, is known for featuring real Australians and real employees.
