Morgan Riddle, who travels around the world with her professional tennis player boyfriend Taylor Fritz, has shared the terrifying moment she once woke up to a stranger in her room.
Ms Riddle was staying in Santorini, Greece, on a girls trip when she decided to go to bed earlier than her friends.
Trying to drown out the noise of the four other women still awake down the hall, she put a pillow over head to get to sleep.
“Like 20 minutes later, I woke up to a phone flashlight going around my room,” the 25-year-old said in a TikTok video on Friday.
Ms Riddle said she assumed it was her friend that she was sharing a room with but then realised she could hear her friend’s voice still down the hall, as well as her other friends.
“Then I realised there was a stranger in my bedroom,” she said.
“Obviously I panicked and froze but I realised this person didn’t know I was in the room because I had a blanket on top of me and I had the pillow on top of my head.”
As a true crime fan, she said she knew it was best to not appear scared and helpless.
Ms Riddle referred to American true crime podcaster Ashley Flowers’ mantra “be weird, be rude, stay alive”.
She said she didn’t know if the stranger in her room was there to steal or do something more sinister.
“In literally the deepest, manliest voice I can muster. I jump up on the bed with the blanket around my shoulders and scream ‘what the f**k are you doing?’” Ms Riddle said, adding that she “channelled the Hulk”.
“It’s like pitch black and I’m face-to-face with this man who had scaled the balcony, because we were on the second floor, and climbed in through the window over me while I was sleeping,” she said.
“I terrified him and he jumped right back out the window.”
She then called the police.
Ms Riddle, who documents a lot of her life on social media, is not a travelling novice.
The American often lives in hotels and out of a suitcase while her partner and tennis star Taylor Fritz competes across different continents. Fritz is ranked No. 7 in the world.
Last month, the couple were in Melbourne for the Australian Open.
Ms Riddle, who calls Los Angeles home, has 311,000 TikTok followers and 124,000 on Instagram.
She was also in Netflix’s tennis documentary series Break Point, which premiered in January.
